It has been a long haul through the Pandemic, but I am happy to say all of it allows us a new way to be able to maintain creativity. Just navigating daily tasks in this environment takes creativity.
I do notice it takes me longer to gather the tools to write or draw and then share that.
I have found that prayer is helping me, along with keeping a thread of contact with friends. I want to share some thoughts on prayer as it used to be in physical gathering spaces. It would seem that we can still manage that with some precautions in place.
About Prayer
Prayer is a connection. It was always a grouping of like minded people gathering in churches, especially on Sundays, to repeat prayers that are written for special purposes. Usually a leader will choose the occasion and look up an appropriate set of words in a prayer book.
In Hawaii, prayer is used for many events. Before parties, an opening of a business, at a new home and anytime community gathers for celebration, prayer is used. Hawaiians have an oral tradition and kahunas and community leaders to say the words along with the people. There is an entreaty for certain energies to be present.
In the West, when we gathered for a retreat, the leader might write a prayer that seeks to align everyones intention for the retreat. This type of prayer entreats God and the Lord and Holy Spirit to work together (the Trinity - the Triune concept of God) to form a protective sphere around the group for the time that they gather to explore a certain spiritual topic, book, or idea. At the end of the retreat, perhaps another prayer is said to thank the Triune Aspect of God for the special power to explore the idea in safety from outside world distractions or negative influences. Throughout the retreat, others may offer prayers for different subjects, ideas or people. These types of prayers are all using energy to encompass and cocoon the grouping during a special time of exploration. The energy they are hoping for will come from the Divine aspect of our universal connections.
We have been using our own energy and power to create these atmospheres needed to protect our virtual groupings. This will be the new way. Another way to connect.
We have the power NOW to create these safe spaces for ourselves, our families and our Spiritual groupings. Not only that, we can earth this energy and power in ANY situation. This is the Energy Prayer that we are ready for in this special time. I have seen on the news many instances of people of all ages thanking first responders and in so doing using the energy of music or applauding or making signs to demonstrate their intentional energy. If our minds and our hearts are clear we will connect directly to each other in this way.
